Let’s Talk Movies: The 5th Wave

Hello, my lovely people (if you haven’t been told this today, you are so lovely). I just got out of the theater about an hour ago after watching the 5th Wave. If you’ve been following my blog, you’d know that The 5th Wave was one of my most anticipated book-to-movie adaptations of the year. I read the book last summer and really enjoyed the story, despite a lot of over-floweriness that usually bothers me. I remember just being engrossed by the story and loving it. You can read my full review for the book here. Before I start talking about the […]

Read Before You Watch: Four 2016 Book-to-Movie Adaptations I Cannot Wait For

Read Before You Watch: Four 2016 Book-to-Movie Adaptations I Cannot Wait For

Are you guys ready for 2016? No? Yes? Let me help you a little bit. It is a widely-known fact that the book is almost always better than the movie. It just generally has more. More context, more character depth, more thought processes, more action. Just more. But what isn’t as widely known are which movies that are coming out are based on books. So I’m here to help you out, to let you know which of the book-to-movie adaptations I’m most excited for this year! You in? Yes? Okay, let’s go. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey Goodreads Page and Movie Trailer Book Release Date: […]

Let’s Talk Movies: Mockingjay Part 2

Let’s Talk Movies: Mockingjay Part 2

I read The Hunger Games my freshman year of high school at the young age of 14. Fun fact: I actually accidentally checked out the Large-Type copy from the library, so each word was huge. Anyway, I was captivated (and not just because the obnoxiously large type). I remember reading it whenever and wherever I could until I finished. I had never read a book like this before. It was so unique and engrossing and honestly hard to read (in the “oh my gosh, kids are killing each other kind of way”…not the “I don’t understand, what the crap is this even saying?” kind […]

Let’s Talk Movies: The Visit

Let’s Talk Movies: The Visit

Guys, let’s just talk about this movie. It’s been over a week because I’ve needed to just calm myself down to a level where I can talk coherently about this. This movie was so stressful. That’s the best word I can use to describe it: stressful. Let me just tell you about the premise. There’s this little family, a mom and her son and daughter, Tyler and Rebecca. The mom hasn’t talked to her parents in years, for an unbeknownst reason to the audience (until later, obvs, when all is revealed…). BUT her parents want to meet their grandchildren so they plan a visit […]

Let’s Talk Movies: Paper Towns

Let’s Talk Movies: Paper Towns

Okay, let’s talk about this movie. I read the book awhile ago…let me check. (Do-re-mi *waving my magic Goodreads wand*) May 2014. Okay, so it wasn’t that long ago. But, alas, it was before my book blogging days where once I was finished with a book, I didn’t do much processing afterwards. So I don’t remember forming a really secure “this is my opinion and I’m sticking to it” opinion. I remember liking it but it not being the best thing that ever happened. I’m a big TFIOS fan, but this one…didn’t really do much for me. I think I wanted […]

Let’s Talk Movies: Jurassic World

Man. I just went to the movies with my little bro and saw Jurassic World. Now…let me just say that I have never seen the original Jurassic Park (Let me proceed to my cone of shame)… But after seeing Jurassic World, I fully intend to go and watch the originals. Jurassic World was probably the most intense movie I’ve ever seen. And maybe I just haven’t watched the right intense movies…but oh my word. So here I am, ready to share my reactions via gif, because that’s always fun, right?
