Top Books Set in the Midwest

Top Books Set in the Midwest

If you didn’t know, I’m a Midwest girl through and through. I was born in Indiana, and then we moved to Ohio, and then we moved to Wisconsin, and then we moved back to Indiana. So, like I said, very Midwest. I live in Utah now (very not Midwest), but I still love me some Midwest setting. Especially in YA novels. And I’ve actually been noticing an increase in the amount of Midwest settings in YA novels lately! Or maybe I’m just imagining that, I don’t know. But anyway, today’s TTT prompt is Top Ten Books in X Setting, so I chose Midwest! (Who would’ve guessed, […]

Top Ten Books I Loved But Never Reviewed

Top Ten Books I Loved But Never Reviewed

Today’s prompt for Top Ten Tuesday is Rewind! Or basically we can do any prompt from the past that we missed or want to do again…which is fun and gives me too many a lot of things to choose from. But I decided to go with Books that I loved, but that I didn’t review. And I’m sticking with books that I’ve read since book blogging (since any book from before was never reviewed). Because sometimes I finish a book, and I just don’t want to write a review. It happens, okay? But I’m going to give them some love here. So let’s […]

Ten Things Books Have Made Me Want To Do Or Learn

Ten Things Books Have Made Me Want To Do Or Learn

One of the best things about books and words in my opinion is their power to evoke real feelings and to move people to real action. These words—literally just ink on a page—can make someone laugh, cry, smile, frown, remember, and hope. Words can do everything from inspiring revolutions to bringing warmth to a young girl’s heart. They’re powerful. That’s why I love today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt: Ten Things Books Have Made You Want to Do After Reading. So let’s get started, shall we? Learn Portuguese The Storyspinner by Becky Wallace The Storyspinner has Portuguese elements and phrases strewn throughout its […]

Top Books Set Outside the US

Top Books Set Outside the US

Hello, hello my beautiful readers. I am happy hear to shine a light on some books that shine a light on a lot of you. At least where you may live. That’s one of the things I really like about book blogging, actually. I get to (virtually) meet so many people from countries that aren’t the United States—an opportunity I probably won’t have otherwise. So without further ado, this week’s TTT prompt is Ten Books Set Outside the US. So let’s have it, shall we? Side note: I’m not including all the British literature I’ve read in my classes because that’d be a […]

Ten Random Facts about Me!

Ten Random Facts about Me!

Soooo, here’s the story. I think when I made my new blogging calendar, the TTT from last month about Most Anticipated Books for the Second Half of 2016 somehow stayed for July. So last night, I wrote that post. And then I started seeing people posting about Ten Bookish/Bloggish Facts, and I was like: But anyway, here I am. Ready to give you ten facts about me! I think I’m just going to go with Random Facts instead of Bookish Facts because I can’t think of many bookish ones that a lot of you probably don’t already know. Are you ready? […]

Ten Books That I Don’t Like but Everyone and Their Moms Love

Ten Books That I Don’t Like but Everyone and Their Moms Love

I hardcore struggle to come up with topics for Freebie weeks. But I also just finished writing a negative review for a book that everyone else seems to love like two minutes ago, so this topic’s on my mind. And if you can’t tell from the title, today I’m listing Ten Books I Have Unpopular Opinions About. Let’s do this!      The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokski Rating: 2 Stars This is the one I just wrote a negative review (Scheduled for tomorrow. Come back y’all). It just didn’t work for me for a very specific reason, which I don’t want to give […]
