Make Me Read It Readathon

Make Me Read It Readathon

Hey y’all. If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been in a bit of a reading/blogging/everything slump. I’m working from 8–5 with an hour and a half of commute each way…and I’ve been dying a little inside. BUT I’m hoping to fix that and maybe this readalong will help me make it through my TBR! You may be asking, “What’s the Make Me Read It Readathon, Carlisa?” Well, I’m glad you asked, kind person. It’s a readathon hosted by Val at the Innocent Smiley (click on the link for the sign-up post) where our audience picks what we reads. The title kind of explains itself, […]

‘Bout (of Books) to Read Allllll Week Long

‘Bout (of Books) to Read Allllll Week Long

This is my third Bout of Books that I’m participating in. Although the second one barely counts because I epically failed at it. BUT I’m here with my big guns and a serious attitude. Because I am nine books behind on my Goodreads goal and I’d love to bring that back a little. But I’m getting ahead of myself. You may be asking, what is “Bout of Books?” Well let me tell you: The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins […]

Bookshelf Color Challenge | 2016 Love-A-Thon

Bookshelf Color Challenge | 2016 Love-A-Thon

Yaaaay, more Love-a-Thon fun! If you missed my earlier post, I answered some get-to-know-you questions here. And if you don’t know what Love-a-Thon is, it’s essentially an annual weekend-long event where we spread love throughout the bookish community, whether you’re a book blogger, booktuber, or bookstagrammer. You can read more here. This challenge looked so fun when Mel from the Daily Prophecy did a video earlier today. And then Cee from the Novel Hermit did a non-video version, and I wanted to hop on board right away! For this, I find a book of that color on my shelf and then […]

Book Bingo! | 2016 Love-a-Thon

This next challenge is basically a bunch of challenges, wrapped up in nice little squares. It’s bingo! Here’s the bingo sheet, which I’ll be updating throughout the weekend as I accomplish the different things! Hoping to get through a lot (hello, study breaks!) What I Did: Visit Five New Blogs […]

2016 Love-a-Thon Questionnaire!

2016 Love-a-Thon Questionnaire!

Yaaaay! This is my first Love-a-thon! Last year, I was actually just starting to book blog when this happened (my blogaversary post is coming up later this week!), so I just creeped on the Love-a-thon’s happenings without actually participating. Buuut here I am, a year later, and ready to jump in! The first post is a questionnaire to help you all get to know me a little better, so let’s just get to it. 1. What’s your name? If you didn’t know, my name is Carlisa. And because it’s frequently mispronounced, let me break it down: Carli + suh. Or Car + Lisa. […]

Bout of Books 15 Goals + Updates!

Bout of Books 15 Goals + Updates!

Yaaaay, I’m doing Bout of Books for the second time this week, starting 1/4 and going to 1/10. I normally wouldn’t do this because my classes start on the 4th…but truth be told, I’m missing the first week of classes because my sister is having a baby. Don’t worry, I’ve already talked to my professors and I’m hoping that I can stay caught up. BUT THIS MEANS I’LL STILL BE HOME and all my siblings and my parents will be back in school/work…and I don’t have a car here. Soooo reading is what I’ll be doing. And hopefully blogging ahead so […]
