Hello, hello. We’re back in full glory this Sunday, and today I’m featuring Jennifer from Never Too Many to Read! And we’re doing another interview because I think those are so fun and you really get to know the blogger. So let’s get started, shall we?
Introduce yourself and your blog.
Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I am a book addict. I currently reside in the southern U.S. where I enjoy spending time with my family, cats, and beloved books. An avid reader from a very young age, I never go anywhere without a book…it just feels wrong. In addition to my obsession with books, I also have a slight (okay, more than slight) addiction to watching television as well as movies. I am active on Twitter (@2many2read) and on Instagram (@j_lynn82).
While I have been reading other people’s blogs for a while, I have only been blogging myself for a little over a month now. On my blog, Never Too Many to Read, you’ll find book reviews, spotlights, guests, random posts on little bit of everything, and who knows what else I’ll come up with?! It is still kind of a work in progress as I get adjusted to being a blogger (finally). And while it mostly focuses on books, I want it to be a reflection of the things I enjoy and want to share my thoughts with others.
When and why did you start blogging?
As I said above, I haven’t been blogging for long. I officially started blogging on June 1, 2016. I had been thinking about it for a while and had many people encouraging me to go for it (including my friend Stephanie from Reading is Better with Cupcakes). I thought it would be a great way to share my love and passion for books with others. Plus, I love to write and be creative so I thought blogging might be a great way to share that with others.
What’s your favorite part of book blogging?
I love sharing my thoughts on something and being able to express who I am and what I think through writing. Writing has been such a private thing for me for so long that it’s still weird for me to think that someone out there might be reading it. I also love the interaction that comes from blogging. And discovering new books and authors and helping others to do the same. It’s an awesome community to be a part of now.
What’s your least favorite part of book blogging?
I am really new to this, so I haven’t quite adjusted to posting daily…I forget to post or schedule it to go up. Sorry. I also have anxiety and worry (probably too much) about what others think of my blog, reviews, etc. That’s not fun. I am trying to get better at both of these…and hopefully with time, it will come.
If you could only recommend three books for the rest of your life, what would they be?
This is hard…I have so many I could recommend. And I read a little bit of everything (and I do mean everything…from kids books to adult books), so I could easily recommend three (or more) for every genre. But if I had to only pick three across genres: 1) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling (actually this whole series…always this series…this isn’t my favorite book of the series, but I wouldn’t want someone to read them out of order). 2) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë (a favorite of mine from childhood…yes, I was reading the classics as a little kid…I was a strange, lonely child and books were my friends). 3) Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne (I love this classic book with its original drawings as well as the Disney versions of the characters…Eeyore is my favorite. There is a lot to learn from our friends in the Hundred Acre Wood, and it can be enjoyed by all ages).
Tell us something un-bookish about yourself!
I love to craft! I like to make cards, notebooks, scrapbooks, etc. I also enjoy up-cycling things…taking old objects and breathing new life into them in some way.
E-reader or physical books? Why?
Either. As long as I can read, I am happy. I do enjoy the ability to take multiple books with me wherever I go with my eBook reader. Multiple books are heavy to carry around in your purse…I speak from experience. But with my eBook reader, I have thousands with me at all times. However, sometimes I just love the feel of a physical book in my hands and their pretty covers and pages.
What’s your favorite post that you’ve written?
I am new to blogging so I haven’t written very many, so ask me again in a few months. But I am proud of my very first post…it was me finally putting myself out there and declaring that I was going to go for it and start blogging.
What are you currently reading?
I am currently in the middle of several books, including a re-read of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (I am going to Universal Studios in a couple of months, so I wanted to refresh my memory a bit), Don’t Stay Up Late by R.L. Stine (a re-launch of Fear Street series, which I enjoyed as a kid…enjoying this one, too), and Nevernight by Jay Kristoff (loving this one so far).
Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself.
1. I have lived in the same house my entire life.
2. I am 33 years old.
3. I have lived in three different states.
- Any final thoughts you want to share?
I would like to thank Carlisa for having me here. I had a lot of fun answering these questions, so I hope you enjoyed reading my answers and learned something about me as I rambled on (something I tend to do…sorry).
And to everyone…I may be new to blogging, but so far I really enjoy it. I have a great love for reading and books and cannot imagine my life without them. I want to share that love with others. I hope that comes across on my blog as it continues to grow and evolve. I also love being a part of this community. Thank you to those who have (or will) read my posts, comment, or even just for reading this today. Thanks for joining me and being a part of my journey. I hope you continue to follow along because it should be an interesting ride…even I don’t know what is in store.
Jennifer’s a new blogger, so go give her blog some love! I really loved all of your answers. Also everyone reading this, let know which you think is a lie from #10 in the comments below!
