The internet is fabulous. Or it can be if you’re following the right things. I was going to share all of my favorite literary internet (liternet? interary? Nope, doesn’t work), but I realized that’s a lot. So I’m going to break them up into a few different posts. First I’m going to tell you about my favorite bookish Twitter pages. And this is completely subjective…but it’s also 100% correct because they’re the best and hilarious and I’m telling you about them. I hope you get all twitterpated (haha, get it? Also this is a real word) because of them.
The Best Bookish Twitter Pages
- Dystopian YA Novel
I found this a few months ago and actually mentioned it in this post as well. But this page is basically a twitter that someone made to write cliché dystopian things. And it’s hilarious. Don’t get me wrong, I will love a good dystopian book. But this account takes all the stereotypical things about the genre and turns them into tweets. Here are a few of my favorite ones:
“I love you Val. I love the way you never really smile or say anything original. I love how we’ve never actually talked much. I want you.”

I miss my sister, and the chickens from our backyard. Sometimes I even miss my nondescript generic unhelpful mother. — Dystopian YA Novel (@DystopianYA) May 10, 2015
When People Are Categorized By A Single Defining Trait, One Girl Will Rise Above. Because Her Single Defining Trait Is Being Different.

My entire life played out before my eyes like a movie – a movie split into two parts right when it started getting exciting. — Dystopian YA Novel (@DystopianYA) February 19, 2015
- Sensitive Enjolras If you know me, you’d know that I love all things Les Mis. It’s a beautiful (albeit incredibly long) book and a beautiful movie. Enjolras is one of the secondary characters. If you’ve seen the movie, it’s the curly haired guy that’s always trying to get Marius to leave the girl and join the rebellion. Someone had the wonderful idea of creating a Twitter account called “Sensitive Enjolras” and it’s awesome. Basically it’s just a whiny Enjolras. Here are some of my favorites:
I find that as a group our aim gets a lot better if we sing aggressively while we shoot — Sensitive Enjolras (@enjolrasthewimp) June 20, 2014
Guys I know most of you are profusely bleeding but if you could please just stay in key
— Sensitive Enjolras (@enjolrasthewimp) August 7, 2014
If you have time to sing about your love life on this barricade then you’re NOT REVOLUTIONING HARD ENOUGH — Sensitive Enjolras (@enjolrasthewimp) April 25, 2015
God would this girl stop being so melodramatic it’s BARELY EVEN DRIZZLING
— Sensitive Enjolras (@enjolrasthewimp) May 31, 2015
- Literary Harry I’m not even like a big One Direction or Harry Styles fan. But this Twitter is awesome. Essentially they take book covers and then they match them up with pictures of Harry Styles. And they work curiously well.

- Shakespeare Lyrics And finally we have the ever lovely Shakespeare, taking the stage. Essentially this account is lyrics taken to the Shakespeare level. I only recently discovered this page, but some of them are pretty funny. Or shall I say, a few of them art rather comical……That doesn’t sound like Shakespeare. I can’t do it. Awk. Oh well. That’s why I have pages like this to do it for me.
And the entire female populace proclaimed I am rather trendy for a Caucasian fellow. — Shakespeare Lyrics (@ShakespeareSong) May 31, 2015
Four go out to thee, Glen Coco. Thou doth succeed, Glen Coco!
— Shakespeare Lyrics (@ShakespeareSong) April 13, 2015
For I am solely about thy bass, no mischief. — Shakespeare Lyrics (@ShakespeareSong) October 23, 2014
I hope you like these. And I hope you find them funny too, because I definitely do. Do you have any other funny bookish Twitter pages I should check out? Mind you, I just did funny ones. More are to come, I promise. Right now I’m planning on a Bookish Instagram post, a Authors You Should Be Following post, just a general Bookish Websites You Should Be Reading… and yeah. That’s what I have planned so far. LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO SEE ANYTHING ELSE. Or if you have pages you want me to spotlight. I am totally open for ideas.
